Women: Wise, Wild, and Wily
Tales celebrating strong women, ancient and modern, who use their intelligence, courage, and resourcefulness to prevail and triumph. The mothers, daughters, sisters, and grandmothers who populate world folklore and fairy stories and their present-day counterparts serve to remind us, often in a most humorous way, how wise, funny, perceptive, and sometimes outrageous they can be.

Voices of the World Village
A collage of stories from many cultures gives adults a glimpse into the lives of our neighbors--from eight to eight thousand miles away. The stories, through their global themes, speak of life: its joys, its sorrows, and its twists and turns. The tales engage the imaginations of the audience through gesture and language rich in meaning.

Tell It on the Mountain
Humorous tales from the mountain regions of our country feature the clever, down-to-earth folk who populated those peaks and “hollers.” The stories in this program are representative of the oral folk literature of the mountains. Certain motifs and anecdotes appear, again and again, from one locale to another, with embellishments and refinements added in each telling.

Down by the Salley Gardens
The garden is an important symbol in cultures around the world and appears in many mythologies. These tales revolve around the garden and the flowers and plants which grow there. If you have a green thumb, an appreciation for nature's abundant beauty or just like a good story, this one's for you.

Wisdom of the Ages: Wise Elder Tales
Today, most ideals of human life revolve around images of youth. Elder tales offer a new image: one of maturity, centered around wisdom and a particular knowledge of self and the world. These stories contain vital insights which are as old as time, if somewhat forgotten in these days of evolving technology. Elder tales entertain and advise, combining innocence with insight. They contain elements of humor, suspense, drama, and inspiration, and offer an appreciation for the wisdom of those in the “second half of life.”

Tales of Mystery and Enchantment
These stories, like any folk or fairy tales, contain elements of magic, suspense, drama, and inspiration. As they draw the listeners into a world of mystery, their simple truths, often revealed in a humorous way, warm our hearts and lift our spirits.

Moonbeams and Starshine
Throughout the ages, in all cultures of the world, the sun, moon, and stars have been honored. This stellar collection of stories and legends about the sky highlights the fascinating lore of these heavenly bodies with all its mystery and intrigue.
