Tales 'n Tunes

Storyline

For many years, as a teacher, storyteller, traveler, and writer, Carol has collected stories from around the world. The constantly expanding repertoire of this accomplished performer includes folk and fairy tales, myths, literary tales, and original stories.

Stories have been a part of Carol's life for as long as she can remember. She grew up in New York State's Capital District listening to her father tell tales of his youth and stories of her great-grandfather's search for a better life for his family in America; and Carol listened as her Uncle Joe regaled all within earshot with yarns of the escapades of his youth.

So, it was natural for her to turn, first as teacher and then as storyteller, to story as a way to reach children and adults. Through the colorful images and varied language of story, Carol enlivens imagination and evokes in the listener a sense of shared understanding which crosses cultural, educational, and geographic barriers.

Carol presents programs for civic organizations and community events in schools, libraries, colleges, museums, churches, bookstores, senior centers, and nature preserves, in New York, New England, and North Carolina. Carol has been a scheduled performer at festivals in the US and Great Britain. She has also performed on radio and television. Carol’s story, “The Mayor’s Egg,” was recorded live at the Egg for the CD Tellabration! 2001:Stories from the Circle of Life. Carol is also half of the musical storytelling duo Tales 'n Tunes and a member of the highly acclaimed storytelling quartet, Four Stories High.
