"On behalf of the Council of New England Parent Aide Programs, I would like to thank you for sharing your wonderful stories. Participants responded with such phrases as 'loved storyteller,' 'delightful,' and 'Storyteller was amazing.'"
----Carol Wheeler, Treasurer

"(Carol's) skillful use of words and facial expressions and engaging personality lured even the shyest preschooler into participation."
----Chatham Courier
    August 20, 1992

"Thank you for the wonderful program of stories you gave us . We were amazed and delighted with the wide range of your repertoire. As always, we enjoyed it immensely . "
----Edna Nicholson, Niskayuna Reformed Church

"We appreciated your coming to tell your wonderful stories. What a good hour that was!"
----Ann Martin Streit, Director
    Gloversville Free Library

"Thanks for an outstanding job! Its not easy to hold the attention of fifty Cub Scouts, ranging in age from seven to eleven, as well as their siblings, parents, and grandparents. You certainly chose your stories well."
----Chuck Haugh, Cub Master
    Pack 83, Burnt Hills, NY

"Your repertoire is so varied and provides an interesting glimpse into other cultures. The dramatic sound effects and unusual musical instruments add an element that kids really love."
----Serena Butch, Youth Services Director
    Schenectady County Public Library

"I feel the residency was very successful. The class really enjoyed learning and practicing the stories. Most of all, they seemed to really enjoy telling the stories in front of not only their own homerooms, but the second grades.

Strengths of the residency were the demonstration storytelling by Carol, student dramatization of the story, and positive reinforcement by peers and the younger audience.

This was a real confidence builder. and gave students practical experience in public speaking. It also provided creative experience in thinking on your feet--visualizing the story, hand motions, characterizations, etc.

The only drawback was that we didnt have enough sessions with Ms.Connolly."
----Erin Haite, sixth grade teacher

"I found out I could do something I never thought I could do."
----Eric, sixth grade student

"The class as a whole, including myself, enjoyed your stay. A major strength of your program was the fact that the children gained experience with public speaking. Many who thought they were not going to be able to do it did a wonderful job. The pre-activities --role play and pantomime--helped ease them into this task.

I think we all learned from your well-designed program. The class is interested in telling to other classes, as well as writing stories of their own. Thank you for all of your time and hard work."
----Melissa Gilman, fifth grade teacher

“Ms. Connolly did a wonderful job of engaging the children and guiding them through the storytelling process in the classroom workshops. She has a great appeal for a variety of ages and demonstrates great skill in her craft.”
----Deborah Cummings, third grade teacher
    Germantown Elementary School
