Tales 'n Tunes CD Travelin' Down the Road

On their first CD, Tales ‘n Tunes perform traditional folk and fairy tales, with original songs creatively blended into them.

The CD highlights eight world tales chosen for the universality of their message. These stories and songs celebrate the interconnectedness of people, cultures, and countries. They are designed, as well, to enhance auditory skills through participation.

This hour-long recording invites listeners to travel down the road in Pakistan with four animal friends, listen to a vain cuckoo bird sing on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, and dance and sing with a clever porcupine in the African jungle.

Tales ‘n Tunes’ high energy performance features character voices, tandem telling and toe-tappin’, finger snappin’, hand clappin’ tunes which will have kids and adults singing along in no time! This unique combination of stories and music has been described as “storytelling with an extra dimension.”

  • The Old Woman Who Lived in a Vinegar Bottle
  • Tug of War

" Appealing voices with music mixed in. Entertaining for children. " -- a Professional Reviewer

" Stories well balanced with the music. It kept the children's attention. A good balance of still and more active participation. Children love (the) actions and joining in verbally and physically. " -- a Professional Reviewer

" Some colleagues and I have used your CD, Travelin Down the Road, as accompaniment toa puppet show with great success. We use a few of the story songs, “Wide Mouth Frog” and “Tug of War” to accompany puppet shows that we do at area schools. The kids truly enjoy the songs, and we always make sure that they sing along to Wide Mouth Frog! Even as we we leave the school, we can still hear the kids singing “ ribbet.” " -- Tracey Jipson, Children’s Librarian, Lane Public Library, Hamilton, Ohio

" You really should hear Earl (4) and Sophie (just 2) sing the songs from the CD. Sophie is just learning to talk but she knows the tune and words to the song about the old lady who is never satisfied and can sing it if you ask her! They love it! " -- Melinda, a grandparent

" The grandchildren love the CD. Thank you for providing such entertaining stories for kids. They won't get out of the car til the story ends. The music and the blend of your voices is beautiful. " -- Peg, a grandparent

" It really is the best CD we have had. All the kids walk around singing it and asking to listen to it. " -- Kris, a parent

" My six year old listens to your CD constantly and is always singing your songs. Even his ten year old sister is singing them. " -- Kelley, a parent

" I gave your CD to my granddaughter and she loves it! " -- Marie, a grandparent
